We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land upon which we create and meet. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
The Women’s Liveability Assessment has been developed to support Community Housing Providers (CHPs) and other organisations to assess and improve the housing and individual outcomes for their women residents.
It was born out of YWCA Australia’s Women’s Housing Framework, and provides principles and practical actions across operations, housing development and property acquisition and addresses the inherent power imbalances between women residents and developers, governments and community housing providers.
The Women's Housing Framework draws on academic research and extensive engagement with women who have experienced housing insecurity and homelessness.
There are four domains of impact under the Women’s Liveability Assessment – safety and security, participation and collaboration, health and wellbeing, and agency.
The project is funded by Homes Victoria.
